"The Self"|
(in)ACTIVE is a collection based on the self; who we are as people. This collection focuses on the feelings you have when you are at home and the emotions you have connected to your mother. All mothers are hard working, whether they stay at home or go out to work, this collection focuses on the mix of personalities that emerge when becoming a mother.
This was my final project done during my time studying abroad at Hogeschool Voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, Holland. As a group project we were to decide on a project brief together inspired by personal objects; creating a colour scheme, collection name, fabric collections and prints. We were encouraged to use creative approaches during the design process to inspire truly new designs. Each colour swatch was named in reation to the feelings we connected to that colour, and each fabric choice portrayed a certain emotion or personality. As a group we created our own small collection of outfits that were to fit together as a whole, working on our group and communacation skills whilst encouraging us as our own designers.
